Athletic injuries are very common no matter your age. From youth sports to college athletics to professional athletes, the best strategy for injury is prevention. Some types of sports injuries can be avoided if the correct steps are taken before the injury occurs. Recent studies have found that when chiropractic care is added to an athlete’s regimen that there is a significant reduction in lower limb strain injuries and lower back pain.
At Tri-States Clinic, Dr. Vicki Souder helps identify potential problems before an injury occurs. Dr. Vicki performs a functional exam and takes x-rays which help identify which areas may be at risk for injury. She then treats those areas with a combination of adjusting, Low Level Laser Therapy, and deep tissue massage. Tri-States Clinic is the only facility in the tri-state area that utilizes this type of technology.
Please see our “Services” page for further explanation about the laser and deep tissue massager.
Lance Armstrong, 7-time Tour de France winner, credits regular chiropractic care and the Erchonia Low Level Laser with helping him to his victories. Dr. Vicki has had the honor or training with Dr. Jeff Spencer, the official chiropractor for Lance Armstrong and the U.S. Postal Service Cycling Team (now Team Discovery), as well as several other professional athletes.

Testimonials from athletes that have been treated at Tri-States Clinic
I started receiving treatment from Tri-States Clinic halfway through the hockey season. I was experiencing soreness and stiffness in my back which was affecting my play. As a goalie, that isn’t a good thing. Dr. Vicki took x-rays and did an exam and pinpointed my problem right away. After receiving only one treatment I could feel the results. The next game I made a save that prior to treatment I know I wouldn’t have been able to make. I have continued getting treatments before each game and have noticed a big difference in how I feel throughout the game because I have more stamina. The staff is great and they genuinely care about improving your performance.

I came to see Dr. Vicki because I had hurt my back in a tournament overseas. My lower back, neck, and shoulder all hurt. Dr. Vicki explained how everything is connected and immediately began working to correct the problems. She treats the problems and not just the symptom. I get treatments in the office and before the games. I have noticed that my neck isn’t as stiff and my shoulder is feeling a lot better. After starting treatment, I scored 5 goals in two weeks! Thank you Dr. Vicki!

I have had shoulder pain since beginning college and back pain since high school. I have been to another chiropractor in Dyersville and have tried icing and heating with limited results. After receiving treatments from Tri-States Clinic I notice that the velocity on my fastball has increased. The staff is great, friendly, and very helpful. Try it and you won’t go anywhere else!

I have suffered with pain in my left knee since my junior year of high school which was 7 years ago. I have tried pain pills, knee adjustments, and rehab 3 different times. Since seeing Dr. Vicki, the pain in my knee has subsided. I am able to lift and run without pain which allows me to push myself to the limit. I sleep better at night and I don’t wake up with any nagging pain. At Tri-States Clinic, I was treated with first class service. There is a sense of a home-like atmosphere when you walk in. The staff makes you feel like a friend and not just a client. The overall experience was great. If you have any kind of injury or pain that never seems to go away, go to Tri-States Clinic. You will find yourself asking, why didn’t I come before?

It started with a pain in the lower left part of my back after a week it moved to the outside of my left knee and then down the whole outside of the calf muscle. I could hardly lie down, let alone walk, put clothes on, or even tie my shoe. I saw a chiropractor in Hazel Green for about two weeks but was not seeing any results. I had been taking 800 mg of Ibuprofen, two hours later taking 1000 mg of Tylenol, and icing every three hours but was still not feeling any comfort. During the Bruisers first football game, I had Dr. Vicki take a look and work on me. I experienced relief almost immediately. I continued to see Dr. Vicki in her office and the staff was amazing. They took me in and cared for me and made sure I found relief as soon as possible. You could say they treated me like one of their family members. The pain has decreased drastically and I am sleeping twice as long. I am able to lie down, walk with little pain, dress myself, and put my shoes on. I can feel my body responding positively to each treatment. With additional treatments I know I will be back to 100%. These people are phenomenal! They make sure you walk out feeling better than when you walked in and they won’t stop until you are 100%.

I was having terrible back and hip pain for a couple of weeks due to soccer. I had tried ice, ibuprofen, and E-Stem with my trainers but nothing was helping. Tri-States Clinic took x-rays and I found out that my hips, back, and neck were out of alignment. Dr. Vicki adjusted my back, hips, and neck and the staff used the laser and percussor. My back still bothers me from time to time but I know I will feel better after a visit or 2 to Dr. Vicki! It makes running much easier and enjoyable. I have no pain while I’m running or doing abdominal work now. The staff is very helpful and can even get me an appointment at the last minute sometimes. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Vicki. She is great and is 100% genuinely dedicated to improving the wellness of her patients.

I have had hip and groin pain that goes down the side of my leg to the knee for several weeks. As a soccer player for Loras College, I was having difficulty performing at 100%. I went through treatments of heat, E-Stem, stretching, and exercises with my athletic trainer and had good temporary results. I came to Tri-States Clinic and was impressed with the treatments. I have noticed that I have more energy when I am on and off the field and my hip doesn’t bother me as much. I have been more relaxed when sleeping and in school I have been able to stay on task. My experience at the clinic has been very beneficial. I have been very impressed with the staff and treatments. The staff listens to their patients and they understand the pain that the patient is going through. They want to do whatever they can to help their patients.
