Can Chiropractic care help sleep apnea?

There are many different causes of sleep apnea.   The first sign or symptom will be snoring.   This is caused by the body not getting the oxygen it needs.  This is a sign of obstructive sleep apnea, a closing down of the upper airway during sleep.  Often, the spouse of the patient suffering with sleep apnea will be the first warning.

If you wake up tired every morning, or wake up with headaches consistently, there is probably a reason why you are not breathing through the night.

If you have already had a sleep study you may have been prescribed a CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) machine.   These can be disruptive to normal sleep due to the noise.   Pus it does not fix the problem which can be an airway obstruction or fixated mid-back and ribs.

The National Institute of Health Studies have associated apnea with a higher risk of heart disease, diabetes, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, metabolic syndrome and many others.

Like cutting off air to a tire, low tissue oxygen can prevent your body from functioning at a normal capacity.   Therefore chronic fatigue is also a critical issue.

At Tri-States Clinic we have helped many patients with sleep apnea finally get a good nights sleep. It sure beats sleeping every night with a CPAP machine.
